CIS Fire Inspection
CIS is a licensed agent for the City of Albany
to perform the inspection on behalf of the State of NY and the City
of Albany.
Certified Inspection Services acting as an a
licensed agent on behalf of the City of Albany, is required to
perform these annual inspections and report by law, any properties
that have or have not been inspected for Fire and Life Safety
Compliance to maintain a Certificate of Occupancy. If you do not
have a current Fire Inspection Certification, your Certificate of
Occupancy permit can be suspended.

In advance of your inspection, you will need to
have available several compliance certificates including but not
limited to;
ü Fire Alarm Systems Annual Certifications
ü
Sprinkler System Annual Certification
ü
Portable Fire Extinguisher Current Inspection Tags
ü
Elevator(s) Bi-Annual Inspection Certification and Records
ü
Any/
All Ansul-Fire Suppression System Current Certification
ü
Certification of Cooking/Hood Equipment ever six months minimum
ü
Maximum Occupancy Sign Posted
In addition to required certifications, you
will be required to demonstrate the following life safety systems
ü
All
emergency lights shall be operable
ü
All
Exit Signs required to be lit, shall
ü
All
Exits and Exit Access shall not be blocked or limited in width
ü
Fire
Escape and Fire Escape Access shall be clear and without
restrictions
ü
All
doors shall have labels defining use and/or contents
ü
Proper Clearances maintained from sprinkler heads and electrical
panels
